Eni midstream & downstream investments in Kazakhstan may total US$4bn

At a meeting of the political council of the Nur Otan Party in Astana last Friday, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev reportedly commented that Eni SpA (ENI IM)(E US) may invest up to US$4bn in a number of projects such as the construction of a gas processing plant, a gas turbine station, a drydock, and the upgrading of the Pavlodar refinery. The potential investments follow an agreement on cooperation between Eni and NC KazMunaiGas signed last year. The final decision on financing the projects will be made within two years after the feasibility study for the projects is completed.
