Plant on production of digital TV tuners opens in Navoi

A new plant on production of digital television tuners (set-top-box) started its operation in Free Industrial and Economic Zone (FIEZ) Navoi on 28 August 2010, the Uzbek agency for Information and Communication (UzACI) said.
The UzACI carried out investment project “Organization of assembly of tuners (set-top-box) for digital television in order to implement presidential resolution from 12 March 2009 “On programme of measures in implementation of important projects on modernization, technical and technological re-equipment for 2009-2014” and order of the president from 25 March 2009.
Servetechno PTE LTD (Singapore), Uzbektelecom joint stock company and Telmax Elektroniks LTD (both Uzbekistan) adopted decision to create enterprise on assembly of digital television tuners at FIEZ Navoi in order to satisfy needs of population for tuners.
